Never Underestimate the Power and Functionality of a Bar Stool in Your Home’s Decor
The kitchen is a popular room in the house. In fact, it is often referred to as the entertaining center for casual dinner parties and family get-togethers. A simple and affordable way to make this casual entertaining and dining easier is to incorporate bar stools into the kitchen decor.
Both stylish and contemporary, bar stools are popular with the quick and easy breakfast or other meals often eaten on the go. The height and construction of them are comfortable and relaxed, making even meals eaten quickly enjoyable.
Of course, a bar stool is not limited to the kitchen. They enhance the energy and attractiveness of any room. For example, many people use a well-placed bar stool in the family living room for optional seating, or near a billiard table for added comfort while playing a game or two.
Bar stools are durable, and are often adjustable in height as well as swivel capabilities. This adjustment allows for greater flexibility and comfort when determining where and how to incorporate a bar stool into your home’s decor. They are available in many different shapes – to reflect genres, such as modern, classic, contemporary – and materials – such as chrome, leather or wood. Of course, you can get a bar stool in almost any color you desire.
The typical design of a bar stool includes a foot rest and the wide base to allow for sturdiness. Some bar stools have half-backs and arms rests, while other designs do not. The seats are often cushioned and filled with polyurethane foam to allow for comfort to the person sitting.
Despite the shape, design, construction, or style of bar stool, their comfort is widely recognized across the globe. Bar stools are highly functional and affordable, making them a popular addition to most homes.

Footscray, with a Census population in 2006 of 11,400 residing within a 5km2 areas 5KM to the West from Melbourne’s CBD, has been a popular Mecca for many of new settlers to Victoria. Surrounding suburbs include Maribyrnong, Flemington, Maidstone, Kingsville, Yarraville, Seddon and West Melbourne. The area is well serviced by public transport with regular trains and trams to the city. Trams also run to Highpoint Shopping Centre at Maribyrnong.

The migrant influences are visible around the Footscray’s markets and shops. The Footscray Market next to Footscray station and Little Saigon are vibrant, colourful centres to purchase food and condiments of all kinds. This concentration of fresh food has also encouraged the establishment of many restaurants in the area.
For most of its history, Footscray has been a dormitory suburb for workers in surrounding manufacturing industries. Most factories have since closed. The affordability of housing in Footscray and its proximity to transport and facilities is also attracting first home buyers into the market. The median price of houses is $447,000 which is above the average for the area, and $275,000 for units. Another attraction of the suburb is Footscray Park which is the State’s second largest botanical park.

Footscray is the home of the Western Bulldogs AFL football club. Whitten Oval, which is currently being redeveloped for wider community use, remains the Club’s training centre although Etihad Stadium at Docklands is now their home ground for matches. The Flemington Racecourse is nearby – easy walk to the Melbourne Cup!
